What should I expect during my remodel project?
Busby Cabinets understands the intimate attachment you have with your home, and because of that, performing remodel work inside your home is one of the most delicate tasks we perform.
And while remodeling can be an exciting process, it can also present unexpected challenges if we are not all on the same page.
It is our experience that most problems can be avoided by simply knowing what to expect and by planning ahead accordingly.
The information in the following will not only let you know exactly what to expect during your cabinetry remodel project, it will also guide you through the process as seamlessly as possible.
I am remodeling my kitchen, but not changing the “footprint.” How can I maximize my storage area?
Our staff of experienced designers will help you figure out how to best utilize your existing space so that you can make the most of your valuable kitchen real estate.
University researchers have found that you can increase your storage space up to 30 percent just by using adjustable shelves and undermount slides, which are standard on all Busby Cabinets cabinetry.
Effective use of our optional cabinet accessories helps, too.
Do I need a permit for my remodel?
Consult your local building department for the definitive answer.
Typically, most remodel projects require some electrical system modifications and as such would require an electrical permit which must be pulled by a licensed electrical contractor.
Plumbing modifications or perhaps moving a wall would likewise require a permit and inspections.
We are a licensed, bonded and insured contractor and as such we are able to help you in the permit process and can work under your permit or we can request it for you.
If you are unfamiliar with building permits and inspection, try to not let the fear of the unknown keep you from considering your remodel.
Permits and inspections are there to help protect your investment.
We are very experienced in these processes and as such would be happy to offer reassuring expertise.
