“This is not just a job; it’s a lifestyle.” That’s how Diana Knipp describes her 20+ year career helping clients bring their visions of home and beauty to life.
“I take the unique particulars of each clients individual tastes, styles and family life into consideration and listen very carefully to how they articulate their wants, hopes and dreams. Then I marry that with what I know about classic design and the latest trends to create spaces that are beautiful, unique and personal to them.”
With a father in the building industry, an architect brother, and a cousin who was an interior designer, Diana has been immersed in the business of helping people develop their concept of home her entire life. Half Colombian, Diana grew up in Los Angeles but spent a considerable amount of time in South America, where she was exposed to many different styles of interior design.
Her fashion-oriented mother, with perpetual matching purse and shoes, was a huge Inspiration to her sense of creativity and design style. Diana got her degree in interior design at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and spent many years designing elegantly- appointed yachts for one of the mega-yacht companies in southern Florida.
“I advocate with my clients for strong aesthetics and keep up-to-date on the latest trends from all over the world. I understand the importance and the difference high-quality cabinets can make in the feel of the home. When you are designing something that you know will be built by the high-quality craftsmen at Busby, it gives you more freedom to create something amazing and completely customized to each individual person. These are not just cabinets; they are pieces of furniture—beautiful furniture that’s going to grace someone’s most intimate home spaces and add warmth and elegance to their everyday life.”
Soon, she began focusing on kitchens and cabinet design work, which she loves.
She explains, “Kitchens are complex, and I love knowing that I’m making a tangible difference in someone’s life. I love doing kitchen cabinets, bathrooms, entertainment centers, offices, bars and closets. It’s very personal, designing something for someone’s home, and I love that about this work.”
